In 1984, an opportunity presented itself to work with one of the best manufacturers of traditional folders in Seki, Japan. The CM-10 was the first of many folders produced for us by this fine Japanese maker. We have a VERY small quantity of the Collector Grade (serial numbers 301-1000), the Excelsior Grade (serial #26-300) with etched blade and with etched blade and engraved bolsters and the Premier Grade (serial numbers 1-25) with etched blade and special engraved bolsters. There are very few serial numbers left. We will ship the smallest numbers first within the grade you order.
This blade was my first using the now highly respected AUS-8. I worked with the maker to accomplish a blade ground very thin, the way I like them ground. It measures 2-1/2", is beautifully hollow ground with a mirror polish and is tempered to 57-59 Rc. The obverse tang is marked "Cattaraugus, Springdale Ark" in two lines and the reverse tang is marked "K.C.C.™, CM-10, Japan" in three lines. Made in Japan in 1984-85.
