The Ripple™ is the first collaboration between noted knifemaker and designer Ken Onion and Columbia River Knife & Tool. This knife is noteworthy for its almost unbelievable silky smooth and fast opening action. Even the best conventional blade pivot bearings have some degree of friction which resists initial movement.

The Ka-Bar FIN line of folders are sturdy, tactical looking all-purpose folding knives. Each are made with stainless steel handles with an arched back profile and recesses in the sides of the scales to ensure a secure and comfortable grip on the knife.

Tom Mayo began making knives in late 1981, but his love of knives started when he was a young boy, probably in the way most young men develop a love of knives: by knives being passed down or given as gifts by an older generation.

The original A. G. Russell™ SeaMaster™ has a 3-1/4" flat ground blade of ATS-34 high carbon stainless at 59-61 Rc. with serrations on the front half of the blade instead of the back half and an anodized Titanium Handle. Both the blade and the marlin spike are coated with a special coating composed of both Titanium and Aluminum. This is a very tough coating, with a hardness of 80 Rc. and great rust resistance. To build a knife with these over the top materials made the knife rather expensive.

The CRKT fixed-blade Razel™ series designed by Jon and Josh Graham of Graham Knives in Cleveland, Tennessee, has captured the attention of every craftsman who has seen them. But many suggested that folding versions be made, so they could whip out the knife for a task, open it with one hand, make the cut, close it with one hand, and clip it back into their pocket or work apron without looking down for a sheath.

The Xikar Xian are small frame lock folders with a mid-frame, integral style removable pocket or money clip. Built entirely of 440A stainless. The frame and blade of the Xian are available bead blasted or Black Teflon coated. The blades are hardened to 55-57 Rc.

The term EDC (Every Day Carry) gets a whole new dimension. With a compact size of just over 2" (closed), the Keycom can be conveniently carried on the key ring, and offers the ergonomics and functionality we already know from all of Chad Los Baños designs.

The way to use this knife as a cigar cutter is to insert the cigar in the cut-hole, close the blade against the cigar "cap" and turn the cigar while applying pressure to the blade. That way the "cap" is removed without crushing the cigar. Cuts up to a 50 gauge cigar.

The Hyper is the latest addition to the compact series from Chad Los Baños. It combines a sturdy framelock and stainless steel handles featuring G-10 and Grip-Zones for security in almost any condition. The handle, clip and blade are all covered with a titanium coating for fewer glares.

The SpyFOX, an interesting play on the names of the two companies, is being distributed by Fox Cutlery and exhibits the quality in design and workmanship you would expect from both Fox and Spyderco.

The Pazoda™ is a stylish frame-lock folder with a 2-5/8" premium 8Cr14MoV blade at 58-59 Rc., gray titanium nitride coated.

In 2007, CRKT® followed one of the most successful designs, the K.I.S.S.® in modern knife history with the H.U.G.™. For 2008, they have made a tactical version with black non-reflective titanium nitride coating.

In 2006, Kershaw® introduced the Groove. With its all-new blade style, it became one of the more popular choices. This year, they have taken the knife to a new level. They have added a Tanto style blade and coated both the blade and handle with a black Tungsten DLC coating.

Spyderco® calls the SPIN a runt. Like many so called runts this one is a pretty tough cookie! Designed by Eric Glesser, who is an important part of the Spyderco engineering and design team, to be the smallest possible folder with the largest possible cutting edge. It is obvious that Eric has learned much from his father (Sal Glesser, founder of Spyderco), but it is equally obvious that he brings his own interpretation to knife design.

The name Alary fits George Sessions' design for Timberline's® newest little folder. Webster's dictionary defines alary as an adjective "having or as if having wings; as in the winged feet of Mercury". The lines of both the handle and the blade will make you think of wings. The locking system is a frame lock with the Sessions De-locker.

After the tremendous success of the K.I.S.S. knife, CRKT surpassed themselves with their Delilah's P.E.C.K. It is significantly smaller, measuring only 2-5/8" when closed and weighing only 0.9 oz. Makes an ideal key chain knife or a simple, unobtrusive pocketknife.

Over the years I have seen many sailors knives, including the one made for us in Japan. Year after year, those knives have proved to be both durable and dependable, but I have long felt that a new, modern design was needed. I have had requests from sailors for a knife with current materials and technical features.

At less than 3 oz., this Titanium handled Frame Lock is a very handy knife. The flat ground spear point blade makes it a fine hunting knife or utility knife, in most instances, a street legal knife for all purposes.

This may be Spyderco's smallest folder, but what it lacks in size it makes up for with style and usability. It is a workhorse of a knife featuring an all stainless steel handle with an etched design to improve grip, a Spyderco round hole for ambidextrous opening, and a right hand tip-down clip.
