For many people the only knife for every day carry is a Barlow. Our new Medium Barlow Lockback is the perfect knife for that purpose. This is a Standard Barlow handle; that is a Swell End Jack shape with a Long Bolster. This is where we leave the Old Fashioned Barlow.

The NEW Acies2 drop-point blade of 1/8" thick ZDP-189 at 64-66 Rc. measures just under 3".

All blades are 1095 carbon steel at 55-58 Rc. with a glaze finish, brass liners, and German silver bolsters and shield.

Stone River™ Gear is breaking new ground with ceramic blades. Already in 2012, they have introduced a liner-style locking folder with a ceramic blade and a steel blade (never done before). Now they are introducing two new ceramic bladed assisted opening folders. These folders incorporate the Vallotton Speed assist quick release opening system.

The 2012 series features six knives from page 34 of the 1903 catalog. The six include a Cattle Knife (Cattle King), a Premium Stockman, and a Woodman’s Knife, each with two choices of handle material.

Buck®'s creation of a limited production of the Paradigm folder is a logical move in my opinion. First offered in 2010, the Paradigm introduced Buck's new Shift Mechanism™, a locking mechanism that is controlled by a rotating bolster.

This Anso design from Fox® is his Flipper folder, with a blade shape that combines a spear point and a deep-bellied skinner. A flip of the extended tang at the front of the spine and a quick flick of the wrist rotates the blade to its open position where a liner-style lock holds it in a locked position.

The ZT 0560 is a mind-changing knife that incorporates three new physical features and a top quality blade steel.

The Higo No Kami is a style of folding pocketknife native to Japan. Traditionally this is a friction folder, which simply means that the knife is held closed simply by the friction created between the washers and handle material in contact with the blade. The blade is held in the open position by your hand wrapped around the handle and the "tang" of the blade as you use the knife.

Black Micarta® with leather, in the standard Randall® Model 25 handle configuration, is one of the few variations in handle material for Randall's most popular hunter. You see this model most often with India Stag used with the leather, but recently Randall has been offering it with Desert Ironwood, Ivorite and occasionally with material provided by the customer.

Manufactured from the highest quality stabilized zirconium oxide material (ceramic) available in the world (second only to diamonds in hardness), these blades are extremely effective for slicing and pealing. Ceramic blades can be fairly easily broken if dropped or mistreated, but the cutting edge will last many times longer than that on any steel blade, if the edge is not abused.

Stone River Gear™ has just introduced a two bladed pocketknife that we believe, may truly be a first. By including both a ceramic blade and a 440 stainless blade in one folder, they have made the choice of which knife to carry moot.

Anyone who is familiar with Joe's work will know that he enjoys making all kinds of knives, from traditional to tactical. Queen Cutlery has begun to produce a few traditional folders of Joe's choosing. The latest - this small Easy Open Cotton Sampler.

Tommy Lee's Double Ground Boot Knife was designed to be slim and unobtrusive. The knife was produced by Paragon® Knives in Japan in the late 1990s and again just a few years ago. With the last production, the company ordered a substantial quantity to which they added handle scales and did the finishing here in the U.S. We have purchased the remainder of those unfinished knives and are offering them as kits to which you can add your own handle material.

For the 9th in this series, Queen Cutlery President Bob Breton has chosen a Large Dog Leg Whittler, a model I am not sure we have ever offered. This whittler is built on two springs with a tapered center liner, as a whittler should be built.

Olamic Cutlery produces handmade knives made in the Russian tradition. Each knife is made in three different stages, each by a specialist. Each worker is trained in their respective areas: blade forging and shaping, heat-treatment and acid etching, final assembly and handle-work.

The Böker Merlin, made in Böker's factory in Solingen, is an interframe folder with a rosewood inlay. The design is from Wilfried Gorski, custom knifemaker and member of the German Knifemakers' Guild. Gorski is well known in Europe for his new ideas in knife construction, the precision of his work and the elegance of his design.

A two-blade pen-knife was a pocket necessity through most of my life. It is just large enough to accomplish most common tasks, but small enough to carry in a pair of dress pants or a pair of jeans.

Sometime in the mid 1980s, probably 1984, Bob Loveless was a guest in my home. Bob and I had been close friends since we met in 1968. While visiting that year, Bob designed two knives for me, a lockback folder and an integral hunting knife.

When Russ Kommer is not out working hard and living the dream of being an Alaskan hunting guide, he is designing some of the finest hunting and outdoor knives around. The Kommer 2-Shot® Skinner now comes as a nicely sized lockback folder.

The Crawford clip point blade is premium 8Cr13MoV at 58-59 Rc., with a scalloped top edge and a ramped Crawford-style thumb stud on each side of the blade for easy ambidextrous opening.

The same contemporary styling, smooth flowing profile and all around fresh design of the original Ripple is now available with aluminum handles (instead of stainless steel) at about half the price. The aluminum handles are anodized black and then hand buffed to expose the bright aluminum, creating an attractive, randomized pocket worn look to the handles.

Benchmade’s Mini-Onslaught has all the same features as the larger version just in a more pocket friendly size.
