Randall Model 11 Alaskan Skinner

Randall Model 11 Alaskan Skinner

This was Randall's original drop point blade. After more than 60 years it is still one of their most usable knives. Designed by Tommy Thompson, noted Alaskan guide, in 1952 for big game skinning, with a point that is "dropped" below the top of the blade to prevent cutting too deeply through the skin when used point first.

Japanese Blue Steel Damascus Skinner

Japanese Blue Steel Damascus Skinner

Over the past few years, Blue Steel and White Steel from Japan have become fairly popular in the United States. This is partly due to the mystery surrounding just what these Japanese steels are, but it is largely because high carbon tool steels are no longer widely used in knives being produced today.
