The Mini SERE Operator™ features a 3-7/8" talon style blade of VG-10 stainless at 58-60 Rc. with blasted Linen Micarta scales over a full tang with holes through the handle to reduce the weight.

The first Al-Mar® knife, introduced to the public in 1985, was a 6" folder with a 4-1/2" blade weighing 12 oz. While some of the early knives made it into SERE (Survival-Evasion-Resistance-Escape), a program that provides military personnel, Department of Defense civilians and private military contractors with training in evading capture, survival skills and the military code of conduct, the vast majority were snapped up by those of us who love knives.

This Hunter is dressy enough to give as a gift and very practical for field use. The blade measures 3-1/8" x 5/8" and is made from tough DIN 1.4116 stainless steel at 55-57 Rc. The stacked leather handle is slightly belled out in the middle and has finger grips to fit well in hand.

The M9 is several years old and has been made by whoever could get a Government contract for it. This is its newest incarnation.

SOG® Specialty Knives has a reputation for building knives for hard use and for supplying knives to the elite military forces. The SOG® Agency is a re-creation of a classic knife originally created for CIA operatives in the early days of the Vietnam War. This knife was designed for clandestine and counter insurgency teams who lived in the jungle for months at a time.

The Outcast Bush Knife will handle just about any task in the great outdoors from chopping weeds to clearing a new campsite. The 10" deep bellied machete style is D-2 tool-steel for wear resistance and toughness. For stain resistance the blade is coated with black Teflon®.

We have been selling Randall knives for many years, but cannot purchase enough to offer them in every catalog. Before we put a knife in a catalog, we have a good stock on our shelves and a large quantity already on order from Randall. Even with this planning, we usually find that customers who order late must wait for delivery.

Japanese knifemaker Takeshi Saji makes knives using the very best materials. The White Steel center core of this 6" blade, which provides the cutting edge, is a pure carbon steel with a Rockwell hardness above 60. Each side consists of 11 layer Suminagashi, the Japanese equivalent of Damasteel. This is high-carbon tool steel and must be protected against rust. We have included a bottle of RustFree for that purpose.

When Jon and Josh Graham of Graham Knives in Cleveland, Tennessee, developed their custom Graham Razel™ in 2001, most knife blades came to a single point. Not the Razel. It's a cross between a chisel and a razor with a knife handle. The result gives two useful Razor-Sharp™ edges, one for pushing or tapping, and the other for precise cutting. You also get two strong blade points. The Graham brothers have been very successful with their custom versions in a variety of sizes and styles.

In the Old West a piece of cloth or leather was wrapped around a muzzle loader's lead shot to prevent the escape of gases when the gun was fired. Each "patch" was cut with a knife much like this one created by Wrangler®. Like the original knives made during the early years of this country, the blades are thin (about 1/16") making the knife both lightweight and a good choice for slicing.

The Team Leader is a different look from SOG. The 5" satin finish blade is flat ground all the way to the top, like a hard working blade should be. There are two versions, one of AUS-8 with the most aggressive saw teeth I have ever seen, and the other from a new American steel produced by Latrobe.

Russ Kommer, an Alaskan maker, designed a knife for his wife to carry in her purse. Every bush pilot, parachutist, and commercial fisherman who saw it wanted one and kept Russ with more work than he could finish. The answer to his problem was a joint venture with Columbia River Knife and Tool. This is a cutting tool that really gets into webbing, rope or netting. The blade comes either razor sharp or in an EMT style, with fully serrated edge and safety tip, just right for cutting away clothing from accident victims or cutting seat belts.

Thirteen years ago Tinus, a teacher of Afrikaans and other subjects at an English School in South Africa, had never seen a handmade knife. His world changed when a friend showed him a knife that the friend had made. Tinus describes it as being rough indeed, but it inspired him to attempt his own.

Due to his career in one of Canada's busiest fire halls and his passion for the outdoors, he started making "hard-working knives" and joined the Canadian Knifemakers' Guild in 1998.

Bob Kasper, the late writer and combat instructor, designed the basic outline of the C/K Dragon after ten years of study into the principles of extreme in-close fighting developed by Dr. Gordon Eric Perrigard over fifty years ago.
