This is a knife that could not even have been dreamed of in the 1970s, when I finally found someone to make the drop forged original Sting. To make the original Sting. I tried makers in this country, in Japan and in England. Every one of them told me that what I wanted was "out of the question". Othello in Solingen told me the same thing, but after I explained my vision of how it should be done, the shop leader took only 15 minutes in his shop before rushing back and telling Mrs. Dahmann and myself with great pride, "we can do this". About a year later, we were selling those first knives at a wonderful $35 each. Those original knives now bring almost $300 each.

With CNC grinders, waterjet cutters, EDM machines, Titanium and the great Frame Lock, the stepchild of Michael Walker's liner lock, it is possible to make a knife that can be carried in the pocket, clipped at the top or slipped to the bottom. The size and shape of this new folder is as close as I could manage to the original Sting boot knife. I think you will love it.
