These knives are made by one of our knifemakers using my favorite working blade steel, A2 at 59-61 Rc. It takes a razor edge and holds and holds that edge like no carving knife you have ever used. This set of Wharncliffe style blades range in size from 3/4" to 2-1/8" with exotic wood handles which measure about 5-1/2" long. In the 19th Century Mr. Wharncliffe designed knives and blades and had a strong influence that continues today for woodcarvers and for general knife users. The straight edge and needle point make it especially useful for detail carving and for picking splinters.
The blade is 7/8" with exotic wood handle which measures about 5-1/2" long. This shape is used anywhere in the world where chip carving is done. Made of A2 at 59-61 Rc., this handmade blade is unsurpassed.
