December and January often bring us very icy conditions in Northwest Arkansas. We had grown accustomed to very mild winters and were taken very much by surprise a year or so ago, when we were hit with a snowstorm between Christmas and New Year's. With ice on trees, streets and sidewalks you found yourself unable to safely venture outside.

In the middle of these conditions, I became aware of a product which looked really interesting, with a funny name. I ordered four pair, one for each of my two grandsons, my wife Goldie, and myself. (The grandsons weren't so concerned about falling, but you can bet Goldie and I were.) When the Yaktrax^™ arrived I was so tired of being inside, it was a great joy just to be able to get out and walk our yard. We have since provided a pair to each of our employees who's job it is to clear the driveways and sidewalks, to make the warehouse runs or any other task that requires their being outside when the weather is bad, as well as our mailman. I intend to never be without a pair again.

The Yaktrax^™ will fit easily over almost any type of shoe. Hook the front over the toe of your shoe, and stretch to cover the entire sole. Stays securely in place during use. You will experience the same solid, predictable grip you are accustomed to on dry surfaces. Unlike other shoe traction devices, Yaktrax^™ won't damage carpets or most flooring materials.
