A.G. Russell Knives

Only 25 will be made in 2011.

We introduced the A.G. Russell™ Shopmade® California Bowie in February of 2010, with Desert Ironwood scales. At that time we could not find India Stag large enough for these large handle scales. We have finally managed to locate 25 pair of high enough quality to add to this fine knife. Because of the size and premium quality, it carried a premium price. This offer to members of the Knife Collector's Club™ is the first. Because of the rarity of the handle material, I fully expect that we will have no knives left to include in the A. G. Russell™ catalogs. We continue to search for more high quality stag, but have no idea when, or if ever, we will find more.

The 8-1/2" classic Bowie blade is 154CM heat-treated to 59-61 Rc. It measures 1-1/4" at its widest point and 3/16" thick. The hilt, of 420 stainless, is precisely fitted to the tang, reminiscent of the bowies made by D. E. Henry in the 1970s. The knife measures 13-1/4" overall and weighs 10.6 oz. The sheath is our own design and is handmade in the U.S.A. of first class American leather. We are proud of this fine example of an American Bowie Knife made completely in the U.S.A.
