A.G. Russell Knives

I have a thing for knives made in the German city of Solingen (pronounced ZOh-ling-an). That city made swords for over 600 years, but now have green laws that forbid running the huge power hammers necessary for that type of forging. Those huge hammers built the city. Their cutlery industry is all but gone, with only a tiny handful of firms hanging on.

We have worked with Böker® for many years and have brought you several different handle materials on this fine knife. When producing these knives for A. G. Russell and to our specificiations, instead of producing knives with no shield they inserted a Tree Brand round shield. I guess we would have to call this a Böker® A. G. Russell knife. Fine German quality knives.

An Auto-Guard or Swing Guard is a hilt, or guard, that lies close to the handle when the knife is closed, but opens into the guard position when the blade is opened. The 3-7/16" clip point blade is 440C at 56-58 Rc. with nickel silver bolsters, caps, guard and Tree Brand® inlay.
