Survival Evasion Resistance Escape

In 1985, Al Mar® introduced the first of the SERE knives. Some of them actually went into the SERE program (Survival Evasion Resistance Escape), and of course, many, many more to the knife buying public. The first knife was a 6" closed folder with a 4-1/4" blade of AUS-6, green Micarta® scales and sheet brass liners. It weighed 12 oz.

This modern version has a 3-5/8" blade of VG-10 at 59-60 Rc. and G-10 scales over stainless liners. Weighing only 6 oz. including the reversible clip, it weighs only half what the original did. Features an opening stud on each side of the blade so that it can easily be opened with either hand and Walker-Lock closing. A top mounted reversible clip makes carrying easy. Probably much stronger and certainly more usable than the original. Suggested retail $265.00. Made in Japan.
