Over the last several years, Canal Street Cutlery® has revived many of the old pocketknife patterns. This one, the Ring Opener, was revived in 2006. It was originally designed for those who did not have strong fingernails. Just twist the ring and the blade opens or closes, no need to break your nails. This model was previously offered with both amber jigged bone and ram’s horn handle scales. For this version, CSC has chosen nicely figured Paua which has been constructed from small thin layers of genuine shell. The satin finished 1-5/8" pen blade and 1-1/2" nail file are both A-2 at 59-61 Rc., a perfect hardness for this high carbon tool steel, making it tough with great edge holding. The bolsters are nickel silver and the liners and CS shield are brass. Measures 2-7/8" closed and weighs 1.3 oz. Made in the U.S.A.
