The Ripple, the first collaboration between noted knifemaker and designer Ken Onion and Columbia River Knife & Tool is now available in a smaller, more pocketable size. Its name is, you guessed it, the Ripple 2. This smaller version keeps all of the qualities of the original, including the almost friction-free IKBS ball bearing opening system. This innovative and simple design places eight uncaged ball bearings on each side of the blade pivot in races, which are machined into the stainless steel handle. Not only is opening and closing exceptionally smooth, the IKBS system is durable, requires little maintenance, and yields a folder with great rigidity and no blade play.

The modified 2-3/4" drop point blade of premium Japanese made Acuto+ stainless at 59-60 Rc. has a high hollow grind, swedged top edge, and a high satin finish. Available only with a plain edge. Pressing the blade flipper with either hand instantly opens the knife. For safety while closed, the blade has a ball detent to create a bias toward closure.

This is an open build frame lock, but with typical Ken Onion attention to detail, the lock does not create an unsightly gap in the right frame. Rather, the cut is neatly integrated into the grip design of the frame. The stainless handle is CNC machined with a complex "ripple" textured pattern plus 44 small holes to reduce the weight. Available with either a black titanium nitride coating or a dark ultramarine blue titanium nitride coating. Both are hand buffed to give a pocket worn look. Made in Taiwan.
