CRKT® has developed a line of knives specifically for emergency rescue and based them on CRKT® production models.

The M16®-ER's are special versions of Kit Carson's popular Zytel® InterFrame M16® series. They feature brushed blade finishes for maximum corrosion resistance, Combined Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point Serrated edges for fast cutting through rope, cord and foliage, and high visibility orange Zytel® scales.

Each knife features textured orange Zytel® scales over 420J2 stainless steel liners. Both models also have the patented AutoLAWKS™, which automatically converts them into virtual fixed blades when the blades are opened. We use our tough AUS-4 high-carbon stainless steel at 54-57 Rc. for the blades to give great everyday utility. A Carson Flipper, an aid to opening the blade especially when wearing gloves and blade guard when knife open, completes the E.R. package. Made in Taiwan. The M16®-13ZER is a slimmer design with a spear point blade measuring 3-7/8" with a false top edge for great penetrating power. Closed length 4-5/8". Weighs 2.9 oz.

The M16®-12ZER is a tough little bulldog of a knife. Dual grind modified Tanto blade measures 3-1/8". Closed length 3 1/4". Weighs 3.6 oz.
