Classic knifemaking tradition comes through in Columbia River's understated design and use of natural materials. But there is a revolutionary aspect to this line. CRKT® has incorporated their patented OutBurst® opening assist and their Fire Safe™ release mechanism. To open the blade, depress the thumbstud and manually move the blade toward the open position. At about 30° the OutBurst assist takes over, propelling the blade into a fully open and locked position.

When the blade is closed, it is held securely in place by the OutBurst spring bias, and also by the Fire Safe pin in the locking liner, which engages the blade. In practice, one-handed opening is a fast, single movement of the thumb. This system provides exceptional safety because it is very difficult, if not impossible, to open the blade accidentally. Bumping or pressing the thumb stud does nothing. The user must know the secret rotating action to open it.

The Delegate™ Gentleman is the smaller of the series with a 3" blade of 8Cr14MoV stainless at 58-59 Rc. It is noteworthy for its custom-style black G10 handle scales perfectly inlaid with cocobolo scales. It also has a custom stainless steel clip for tip down carry.
