Anyone who has used a Dozier knife will agree that there is no hunting knife being produced today that will outperform his D2 line of knives. I find that many knife users, even many who own and use a Dozier D2 knife, are not aware of just how awesome his mirror polished knives are. Bob applies the same compulsiveness to making the mirror polished knives as he does the D2 knives. Everything must be just so, from the selection of the steel and the heat treat, which is done in his own shop and to his specifications, to the unbelievable mirror polish and the finest leather sheaths in the market today. He just produced a short run of ten Loveless style Drop Point Hunters with Interior Wooly Mammoth Ivory handle scales specifically for members of the Knife Collectors Club™ and A. G. Russell™ customers. All ten sold within two days to club members.

There will be no more with Mammoth Ivory in 2009, but he is already working on 25 of the same knife with this wonderfully figured spalted maple. The 3-5/8" drop point blade is the same steel used in the Mammoth Ivory version - Carpenter Steel's CTS-40CP powder metal stainless at 59-60 Rc. Bob has found that it has fewer imperfections that the 154CM that he is currently able to buy.

Many knifemakers mirror polish their blades, but you haven't seen mirror polished until you look at a Dozier knife with this new blade steel. You will be challenged to find even the tiniest flaw in the finish. The handle scales are hand selected natural brown spalted maple with black contrasting lines over thin red liners. Stainless bolts and thong hole liner, a brass hilt and a full tapered tang complete the knife. Measures 8" from tip to butt and weighs 5.9 oz. The sheath is hand made by Dozier and is of a quality to match the knife.
