New in 2017. The SpydieChef was designed by renowned Polish custom knifemaker Marcin Slysz and is his third collaboration with Spyderco. Known for his simple yet elegant designs and flawless craftmanship, Slysz began making knives seriously in 2006. The Spydiechef is a folding knife that takes the user-friendly ergonomics and balance of a world-class chef's knife and translates them into an all-purpose, everyday-carry folder that is impervious to the elements.

A member of Spyderco's Salt Series™ of ultra-corrosion-resistant knives, the Spydiechef features a gracefully curved blade crafted from LC200N. This state-of-the-art nitrogen-based alloy is extremely corrosion resistant and is actually used by NASA for the ball bearings used in aerospace applications. The blade's broad profile and full-flat grind create exceptional edge geometry that ensures precise, low-friction cutting performance.

To minimize weight, optimize balance, and simplify cleaning, the Spydiechef features an open-backed handle built with two precision-machined solid titanium scales. The reverse-side scale houses a high-strength Reeve Integral Lock (R.I.L.) mechanism that locks the blade firmly open when in use, yet allows easy one-hand lock release. For additional security when working around water, the handle also includes a lined lanyard hole for easy attachment of safety lines and lanyards and a reversible deep-pocket wire clip for convenient, ambidextrous and tip-up carry. Spydiechef offers extreme cutting performance in a package that is immune to even the harshest environments.

The 3-3/8" blade has a hardness of 58-60 Rc. and the closed length measures 4-5/8". Weighs 3.7 oz. Made in Taiwan. Suggested Retail $404.00.

Spyderco

In 1981, Spyderco ventured into the world of knife making by introducing their first folding knife, the C01 Worker. This knife was the first in the industry to feature a round hole in the blade design that allowed for fast, one-hand opening, now the company’s trademark, and the first to feature a pocket clip. The trademarked round hole is the most recognizable feature of a Spyderco knife and it facilitates the easy opening and closing of these knives with one hand while also offering convenient access and maximum control while opening as well as accommodating large, small or gloved hands.

Spyderco’s recognizable appearance is a result of designing ergonomically functional tools rather than applying lipstick and nylons to a pocketknife. Spyderco’s knives may look unusual, but they will never be called unusable or undependable. When you purchase a Spyderco knife, you are buying a high quality reliable cutting tool that was designed and manufactured for peak performance and ergonomic comfort.
