When the professional outdoorsman looks for a knife, he wants one that adds as little load to his belt as possible, but is just big enough to do everything a knife should do. If he wants to chop wood he will have an axe. For day-to-day knife uses he wants a knife that does not otherwise get in his way.

This knife is intended for the man or woman who wants a tool of professional quality that is just big enough, lightweight and quite durable. The 3-5/8" drop point blade of 1/8" thick stock is D-2 tool-steel hardened to 60-61 Rc. which will take and hold an edge as well as most of the present day exotic stainless steels. The handles of textured G-10 are shaped to fit the hand and to be comfortable hour after hour, and to stand up to every job. The black leather sheath is designed to ride behind the hip, out of the way, yet be instantly available. Available in your choice of satin finish or black titanium oxide coated blade. Measures 7-5/8" tip to butt. Weighs only 3.9 oz. Made in China.

A.G. Russell Knives

From the age of nine I made homemade knives until I was about twenty-four when I began to make handmade knives, crude but no longer made at home. A few years later, I had met and learned from makers like R.W. Loveless and R. L. Dozier. I made knives until the mid 1970s. I don’t make handmade knives anymore, as my hands aren’t what they used to be. However, I do have very talented makers in the United States and Japan who make knives that I am proud to put my name on. I design pocketknives, one hand knives, lockbacks, and fixed blade knives and have them made to our standards. ~A.G. Russell III

A.G. Russell has been in the knives and whetstones business for over 50 years. A.G. Russell knives are well known for their quality. A.G. Russell knives tend to be more traditional in style and look, with modern advances in material and design to create excellent knives.

A.G. Russell Professional Hunter Satin Finish - This is an extremely well-designed knife! Perfect size and shape for field dressing game. The D2 steel is excellent, also. It takes and holds a very nice edge. The execution of this great design, though, isn't quite perfect. The video states that the blade is nearly flat, but slightly hollow ground. One side of the blade on my knife does appear flat, with perhaps a very slight concave shape. The other side of the blade, though, is convex, not even close to being flat or concave. But with the great steel and edge, the knife still performs pretty well. Changes: Make both sides of the blade the same. I would make it in the USA, not China. I was disappointed when I saw "Made in China"! Rating: 8/10
