CRKT® The Wasp - Large Version - Combo Edge

Howard Viele, a Knifemaker's Guild member for over two decades, ranks right at the top of the list of custom knifemakers producing high-tech knives with Walker style locks. At knife shows, Howard usually sells out in the first couple of hours. Unfortunately, he can personally make only 50 or so knives a year. When CRKT saw the handmade version of The Wasp, they knew it was a perfect candidate for a CRKT model. We believe they've made a great choice.

Tom Hitchcock, an industrial engineer from Talent, OR, began the design of the Hole In One with the perimeter frame, which is a single piece of 420J2 stainless steel, formed to fit the hand. The CRKT fixed-blade Razel™ series designed by Jon and Josh Graham of Graham Knives in Cleveland, Tennessee, has captured the attention of every craftsman who has seen them. These dimensions make the Zilla-Tool Jr. handy to carry in pocket or on the belt. The tool is still large enough to handle real work tasks.

CRKT® Montu™

From the Manufacturer:

In ancient Egypt, the war god Montu is usually depicted with a falcon head and a solar disk above it. That suggests speed, power, and brilliance to us. Allen Elishewitz is an acclaimed young Canyon Lake, Texas, knifemaker who offers a surprising range of custom knives, many with Egyptian-themed names. The Elishewitz Montu™ has turned out to be everything we could imagine in a personal folder.

CRKT® Horus™

Horus is familiar to Egyptologists as the hawk-headed god, lord of the sky. As Canyon Lake, Texas, knifemaker Allen Elishewitz developed this design for Columbia River Knife & Tool® (CRKT®), similar in many ways to his larger custom Creedmore, we saw an aggressive hawk-like character in its crisp edges, facets and choils, hence the Horus™ name. It reminds us of an F-111 stealth fighter, too.

CRKT® Kommer 30-30

You will be blown away by the quality and finish of the new Kommer 30-30 folding hunters. Designed by knifemaker and former Alaskan guide Russ Kommer, these production knives have that special look and slick action of a Kommer custom. They are built of quality materials and finished by hand.

CRKT® Gallagher Badger®

As you know, Barry Gallagher is one of the most acclaimed members of the Knifemakers' Guild, well known for his award-winning high-end custom art knives. So CRKT® had a special challenge in producing Barry's Badger design at a quality level that would satisfy him, while keeping the price low enough to satisfy you.

CRKT® Lake Sentinel

Custom knives are often set apart by the exotic materials used. It is no surprise that custom knifemaker Ron Lake was persistent in his desire that Columbia River Knife & Tool® use those same materials in the Sentinel.

Lake Thunderbolt™ and Tunderbolt™ 2

Study aircraft history, and you find the name Thunderbolt connected both to the P-47 fighter and A-10 fighter-bomber. They are both invariably described as "large, rugged, dependable." Those words also fit Ron Lake's new locking liner design for the Columbia River Knife & Tool® (CRKT®) Thunderbolt™.

CRKT® Lake 111™

Ron Lake's latest breakthrough is the new Lake 111™ by CRKT®.

CRKT® Lake Bandera™

This web page is all about a cool knife and great value. Cutlery Hall of Fame member and master lockback folder designer Ron Lake showed CRKT a prototype of this very tasty concept. It had a clean shape, choiled grip and a flat profile with G10 scales. In other words, it was a knife that just about every knife fancier would want. Their job was to make it a knife that anyone could afford. Because it’s a rugged no-nonsense design with Western flair, they decided to call it the Bandera™.

CRKT® Krommer Fulcrum & New Mini Fulcrum

The 3-1/2" blade is a Hammond modified clip point, hollow ground from AUS-6M stainless steel at 55-57 Rc. with a bead blast finish. For maximum comfort, safety and hold, the handle consists of a rigid, injection molded high-impact polycarbonate frame with a soft, comfortable diamond patterned injection molded Kraton grip.

CRKT® Lake Signature

This knife is Ron Lake's first knife designed around the liner-lock which was invented by his friend Michael Walker. This knife uses Ron's Interframe patent, putting inlays into the solid metal of each side of the knife. It also has a remarkable version of the Lake-Walker-Knife-Safety (LAWKS) invented jointly by Lake and Walker.

CRKT® H.U.G & H.U.G. 2

How do you follow one of the most successful designs in modern knife history? With a H.U.G.

Columbia River Knife & Tool has done just that with Halligan's Ultimate Gadget. It is virtually as small, simple and lightweight as the original K.I.S.S.®, but so much more sophisticated and versatile.

CRKT® 14K Summit Series

Columbia River's 14k Summit series utilizes their powerful InterFrame locking liner construction. Combined with the "skeletonized" scales of nickel chrome plated zinc alloy, this open construction makes it easy to clean your knife and reduces weight.

CRKT® Convergence

The CRKT Convergence was designed by award winning custom knifemaker Aaron Frederick and introduced in 2004. The locking mechanism is unusual enough that CRKT finally gave up on producing it. After removing the knife from their line, CRKT offered the remaining stock to A. G. Russell Knives. A wonderful opportunity for our customers.

CRKT® Pharaoh

Those of you who are familiar with Allen Elishewitz's web site of exquisite custom knives will know that the new production CRKT Pharaoh is very different from Allen's custom Pharaoh. Sorry for any confusion, but this is a unique design that incorporates many of Allen's themes well deserving of the title "king." You will look very hard to find a production knife in this price class that is anything like the Pharaoh, so it does stand a bit larger than life.

CRKT® Kommer Full Throttle

Look through the CRKT catalog, and you will see page after page of successful hunting and fishing knife designs by Knifemakers' Guild® member and Alaskan guide Russ Kommer, whose custom knife shop is now in Fargo, North Dakota. But Russ blew us away with his prototype for the Full Throttle™, which is definitely a rock-solid personal frame-lock folder.

CRKT® Van Hoy On Fire - One-Hand Opening

Ed Van Hoy has designed a number of hot sellers for Columbia River Knife & Tool (CRKT). This time it is a frame-lock folder that utilizes Columbia River's patented OutBurst™ assisted opening mechanism. The action is super slick, thanks to bronze and Teflon® bearings at the adjustable blade pivot.

CRKT® K.I.S.S. Two-Timer

Columbia River Knife & Tool's® original K.I.S.S.® has been one of the most popular knives ever sold in our catalog. For 2007, CRKT has taken that K.I.S.S.® to a new level. Ed Van Hoy, designer of the Snap Fire, and Ed Halligan, designer of the original K.I.S.S.®, have worked together to develop the Two-Timer. The most obvious change is the second blade.

CRKT calls it the Edgie because the edge is honed every time it is opened or closed.

Van Hoy R.S.L. Snap Lock

This remarkable knife was inspired by a knife designed by Blackie Collins in the 1960s or early in the 70s which was very much a two handed knife. Ed Van Hoy has added a remarkable opening and closing device that turns this one into a "One Hand Knife." He has also totally redesigned the blade to bring it into the 21st Century. At the 2002 Knifemaker's Guild show, we selected Ed's handmade knife to receive our "Most Innovative Folder" award.
