Reproductions of Ukiyo-e prints fill the handle scales of this folder. The images were originally created as woodblock prints in Edo (now Tokyo) during the second half of the 17th century. The reproducible nature of the print process made them affordable, therefore extremely popular. The subject is city life, in particular activities and scenes from the entertainment district. Hiro has chosen to reproduce, Samurai (warrior of nobility status), Miyako Bijin (Beautiful girl in Kyoto) and Yujyo (Geisha girl) in strong, vibrant colors on aluminum handle scales. The 2" drop point blade is VG-10 stainless at 59-61 Rc. Measures 3-1/8" closed and weighs 1.8 oz. Made in Japan.
