For over 30 years, Bob Dozier has been designing and making some of the most highly prized handmade hunting knives in the country. His knives are much appreciated because of their toughness and ability to hold an edge. Bob is known best for his fixed bladed knives, but also produces very high quality folders. His blade steel of choice is D2. Since 2001, he has collaborated with Ka-Bar to offer a series of affordable folders with either injected molded plastic or aluminum handles. The new Bobcat follows the basic design of the Ka-Bar Bull Dozier fixed blade that was introduced in 2007. The folders, as well as the fixed blade, are designed for heavy use. The handle fills the hand and the integrated guard assures that fingers are protected from the blade edge. The Zytel® handles are inset with ovals of textured Kraton G® to assure positive grip even in harsh conditions. The sabre ground clip point blade of AUS-8 stainless at 57-59 Rc. measures a full 1-1/4" wide and 4-1/8" in length with black powder coating to eliminate reflection. Measures 5-1/4" closed and weighs 8.3 oz. Stainless steel pocket clip included. Equally useful in the military arena or around the hunting camp. Made in Taiwan. Suggested retail $66.63.
