In 2006, Kershaw® introduced the Groove with much success. This was the first knife to make use of computerized 3-D machining equipment to create a unique striation pattern below the grind line of the blade. The Zing is a small and less expensive knife with the same blade striations. Very cool.
The 3" blade is Sandvik 14C28N high carbon cutlery stainless at 58-60 Rc. An extension of the ricasso serves as a finger guard when the blade is open. When the blade closes this same extension of the ricasso pivots through the back of the handle to serve as a "flipper" for quick and easy opening with a flip of the index finger. The handle is injection molded polymide over a 420 stainless steel locking liner. Includes a removable/reversible pocket clip, which can be positioned for tip up or tip down carry. Measures 3-7/8" closed and weighs 3.1 oz. Made in the U.S.A. Suggested retail is $64.95.
