A.G. Russell Knives

The name is not necessarily attractive, but what it lacks in elegance this knife delivers in usefulness. Custom knifemaker and metalworker Alan Folts really knows how to get the most into a small fixed blade design. The S.P.E.W. (Small Pocket Everyday Wharncliffe) is a slimmed down design for easy carry and all around blade utility.

This American made hunter from Kershaw is designed for the serious outdoorsman. The design is simple, yet the features are those that are most used by the hunter. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this knife goes to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation to help in their mission of preserving wildlife for future generations. As a mark of your support, the knife features the new RMEF logo on the blade.

In the early 1980’s, Ethan Becker, an avid outdoorsman, founded Becker Knife and Tool, focusing on the large tactical and survival knives he had always wanted for himself. In the late 1990’s and early 2000’s, Camillus Cutlery, no longer in business, produced some his most popular designs. In late 2008, Ka-Bar began introducing some of those same designs.

I believe this knife to be the very first model that "Bo" made. It would be hard to recognize today's clean-cut Model 3 as the same knife produced in 1937. This version has an India Stag handle, brass hilt, and a duraluminum butt.

This Hunter is dressy enough to give as a gift and very practical for field use. The blade measures 3-1/8" x 5/8" and is made from tough DIN 1.4116 stainless steel at 55-57 Rc. The stacked leather handle is slightly belled out in the middle and has finger grips to fit well in hand.

The M9 is several years old and has been made by whoever could get a Government contract for it. This is its newest incarnation.

SOG® Specialty Knives has a reputation for building knives for hard use and for supplying knives to the elite military forces. The SOG® Agency is a re-creation of a classic knife originally created for CIA operatives in the early days of the Vietnam War. This knife was designed for clandestine and counter insurgency teams who lived in the jungle for months at a time.

When Jon and Josh Graham of Graham Knives in Cleveland, Tennessee, developed their custom Graham Razel™ in 2001, most knife blades came to a single point. Not the Razel. It's a cross between a chisel and a razor with a knife handle. The result gives two useful Razor-Sharp™ edges, one for pushing or tapping, and the other for precise cutting. You also get two strong blade points. The Graham brothers have been very successful with their custom versions in a variety of sizes and styles.

Designed by ABS Mastersmith Kirk Rexroat, the Backup models are smaller lighter fixed blades designed for all-day carry. They offer you exactly what their name tells you - they are a backup for whatever your day may bring.

Unlike many skeletonized flat blades, the Krein Dogfish is graceful, gives a secure grip, and also has that dogfish face at the pommel which turns out to be - a lanyard hole and bottle opener! It has a secure finger choil and friction grooves at the thumb spine and near the butt.

Russ Kommer, an Alaskan maker, designed a knife for his wife to carry in her purse. Every bush pilot, parachutist, and commercial fisherman who saw it wanted one and kept Russ with more work than he could finish. The answer to his problem was a joint venture with Columbia River Knife and Tool. This is a cutting tool that really gets into webbing, rope or netting. The blade comes either razor sharp or in an EMT style, with fully serrated edge and safety tip, just right for cutting away clothing from accident victims or cutting seat belts.

Thirteen years ago Tinus, a teacher of Afrikaans and other subjects at an English School in South Africa, had never seen a handmade knife. His world changed when a friend showed him a knife that the friend had made. Tinus describes it as being rough indeed, but it inspired him to attempt his own.

Bob Dozier has used the classic Springfield as inspiration for the first in what he plans to be a series of knives based on WWII fighting knives. In 2007, he produced about 65 of the Dozier 1943 Fighter and A. G. Russell™ knives sold nearly all of those. After producing those knives, Bob moved on to other demands on his time and set the pattern, and the project, aside.

We always have a good quantity of the featured knives on hand when we mail the catalog, but often orders run us out of stock very quickly. At times it can take up to five, or even six, months for us to deliver your order. If you order directly from Randall, the price will be lower but the wait will be extremely long.

The MAK-1™ (Multiple Access Knife) and Extrik-8-R™ (Seat Belt Cutter and Multi-Tool) were created by James McGowan, who is a professional firefighter in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Due to his career in one of Canada's busiest fire halls and his passion for the outdoors, he started making "hard-working knives" and joined the Canadian Knifemakers' Guild in 1998.

This is a very slim version of the original Canadian Belt Knife designed in the late 1950's. It has been termed by one of our surgeon customers "handy as a fine scalpel".

The man who has skinned two to five deer a year for 20-50 years probably does not need a set like the Kodi-Pak. That man is probably using his father's or grandfather's pocketknife just as he was taught. However, if you don't have the finesse you once had, or haven't yet gained it, this may be the tool for you.
