All blades are 1095 carbon steel at 55-58 Rc. with a glaze finish, brass liners, and German silver bolsters and shield.

After 20 years, and 20 sets of knives, the Schatt and Morgan® Keystone Shield series was retired in 2010. In 2011, "The Heritage Series" was introduced.

This Two Blade Sowbelly Trapper is the 5th knife in the 5th series of recent Schatt & Morgan File & Wire Tested knives. The handle material for all knives in the 5th series is Morning Ash Worm Groove Bone.

In 2010, after two decades, the Schatt & Morgan Keystone Shield series was retired. The Schatt & Morgan Heritage Series will replace it, and the 2011 knives are the first. The concept is to reproduce the knives shown on a particular page in one of two Schatt & Morgan catalogs, one dated 1903 and the other from around 1908.

The Coke Bottle handle style has been available from Schatt & Morgan® for many, many years. It has been offered with several blade configurations, different bolsters and handle scales, and, in one instance - the File and Wire Series 4, in a slim design. This fourth knife in the 5th series of the Schatt & Morgan File and Wire Tested knives is a single blade, standard Coke Bottle with Morning Ash Worm Groove Bone.

The 3-1/4" mirror polished Wharncliffe blade is ATS-34 stainless at 59-61 Rc. with cut in ground swedges on both sides of the blade and a long pull nail mark.

Schatt & Morgan Series XVIII consists of six different models. Five have handle scales of Pennsylvania Brown Berry Worn Worm Groove bone with nickel silver keystone shields and bolsters and brass liners. The sixth pattern is a two blade Mini Barlow with Brown Bark Mastadon Ivory.

Since 2000, they have produced a President's Choice knife. This, the 4th, will be limited to only 400 pieces. It is a remarkable knife, a 3-5/8" "Baby Sunfish" with coined bolsters, wonderful Mother-of-Pearl scales and nickel silver liners and bolsters.

Limited to 500 pieces, this lovely pearl handled Whittler has so many special features that collectors are going to be blown away. Magnificent Mother-of-Pearl scales are complimented by threaded and pinched nickel silver bolsters and brass pins.
