For the 9th in this series, Queen Cutlery President Bob Breton has chosen a Large Dog Leg Whittler, a model I am not sure we have ever offered. This whittler is built on two springs with a tapered center liner, as a whittler should be built.

This variation of the four models released by Bear and Son in their 2011 Custom Heritage Series features 440A stainless blades and constructed Abalone handle scales.

The inspiration for Bear and Son Cutlery's Custom Heritage Series was a photograph of Ken Griffey's (owner of Bear Cutlery) grandfather holding an old Robeson knife. Ken decided to reproduce some of those old knives his Grandfather owned and loved.

Evidence indicates that beer has been brewed in Germany since around 800 B.C. and by the second century, it was being traded commercially. In 1516, Duke Wilhelm IV of Bavaria enacted the Reinheitsgebot, or the “Purity Law,” which regulated the brewing of beer. The town of Solingen, known as the cutlery center of Germany, also enacted strict laws for the manufacture of knives and shears. While Boker is not quite as “aged” as the brewing industry, the same quality standards apply.

After two decades, the Schatt & Morgan Keystone Shield series is being retired. This 20th Anniversary series consists of six different models. Five have handle scales of polished Bourbon Reversed Worm Groove jigged bone, nickel silver keystone shields and bolsters, brass liners and pins, and Old Style high satin blade finish.

Please look closely at this knife. I have redesigned all three blades and think that the new shapes will be as exciting to you as they are to me. In the past 75-100 years, no one has taken the time and trouble to do what we are doing with pocket knives.

This series of Böker® traditional folding knives is dedicated to the famous Appaloosa horse. The Appaloosa was introduced to Mexico by the Spanish in the 1500s and spread throughout North America. Known for their incredible strength and stamina, they can be recognized by their unique coloring, various shades of brown and white, in irregular spots. This coloration is the inspiration for the bone scales on these knives.
