New for 2011 Ka-Bar has released a new series of knives, their ZK knives or "Zombie Killer" knives. Ka-Bar named the line after its top officials joked about the need to design knives capable of killing a zombie when firearms aren't available. The ZK Series is designed to protect without fail in any situation, anything from securing the perimeter, clearing a path through the jungle or yes against an ambush of zombies.

Extra-thick (6mm) blades make these knives almost as rugged as pry bars. The Heavy Bowies will perform well at chopping, digging, cutting, and in other tough applications.

The tanto style blade measures 3-11/16" and is made of AUS-8 stainless steel at 57-59 Rc., with a non-reflective black powder coating. Available in plain or combination edge blade styles. The handle is designed with an angle just right for easy access and a grip for a firm hold and in a foliage green color.

This is one of those knives that Goldie and I disagree on. I had to overrule and insist that there were quite a few of you who would love to have such a knife. Think of it as a short cutlass or combat bolo.
