Leatherman's recent design trend has been more toward tools that "look good". The Super Tool 300 is a move back to the type of tool the Leatherman brand was built on.

At the 2007 S.H.O.T. Show, we were shown a prototype of Leatherman's new Skeletool™ and Skeletool™-CX. The basic premise is a really lightweight pocket tool with the most needed features and one hand opening and closing.

The byrdRench was designed by an aerospace engineer in league with Spyderco R&D. It is set apart from other multi-tools by its one-hand-open full sized locking blade and wrench.

The Kick is a totally basic tool. The key differences in this tool is a handle that does not hurt your hand when you use the tool and an improved plier head with hard wire cutter and needle nose that also functions as regular pliers.
