Al Mar Shiva with Black Micarta

The Shiva is the first Tactical fixed blade to be made by Al Mar Knives with a laminated VG-10 stainless steel blade. Laminating the VG-10 between two layers of 400 series stainless steel increases the lateral strength of the blade by upwards of 30% and does so without increasing the weight or bulk. The first version of this knife was introduced last year with Chinese Quince Burl handle scales and was made to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the company.

The new version of this original Al Mar design has a beautiful tapered tang, contoured and polished black Micarta® scales, satin stainless guard and a full grain traditional black leather sheath.

This slim combat knife can be used in the field as well. It will be an effective hunting and camping knife. The 5-5/16" blade of a center core of VG-10 at 58-60 Rc. between two pieces of softer stainless steel will stand far more abuse than VG-10 alone. Measures 9-7/8" from tip to butt and weighs 5.5 oz.
