Mike Stewart of Bark River Knife & Tool has created for A. G. Russell Knives a deluxe version of his very popular Fox River model. This is the first Fox River created with bolsters.
The Fox River is a full size hunting and field knife with all the handling characteristics of Bark River's smaller hunting knives. Easily handles field dressing chores from medium game like Whitetail up to the largest game animals in North America. Will manage most camp chores with ease.
The 4-1/8" blade is A-2, my favorite non-stainless tool steel. A-2 high carbon tool steel has been my favorite knife steel for over 50 years, ever since I stopped using worn out file and buggy springs and switched from forging to stock removal. To see why, go here and look at the make up of the steel.
The first 100 Fox Rivers with bolsters have handles of California Buckeye and include a fine leather sheath that Mike is having produced in Serbia. This is a full tang knife with an integral thong slot at the rear of the handle. The bolsters are highly polished 6061 Aircraft alloy to reduce weight and maintain the balance of the knife design. Measures 8-1/2" from tip to butt and weighs 5.6 oz. Suggested retail is $269.95. Color of handles may vary from light brown to dark gray.
