This is the classic handle shape and blade for an American produced lockback. Buck® was so instrumental in the development of the lockback (think Buck® 110) that the model was for a long time referred to as a Buck knife, no matter who the manufacturer was. In the early development the lockback was almost always larger than this pocket sized 3-3/8". It was Buck® who began the move to smaller knives when they produced the Buck® 112, a version for the 110. Since then they have produced many lockbacks, the latest being the Buck 55.
The 55 has a 2-3/8" blade of 420HC at 56-58 Rc. with the famous Buck clip point. The intregal nickel silver frame holds gorgeous mammoth ivory bark handle scales. Weighs 2.1 oz. Made in the U. S. A. Ships in a handsome wood presentation box. Limited to a total of 250 pieces, only 100 being produced in 2006. Not serial numbered.
