Between 1900 and World War II, Camillus Cutlery was responsible for producing what was considered one of the finest quality lines of knives. Those knives were marked OVB meaning "Our Very Best". They were elegant designs crafted of the finest materials available at the time and were made by the best craftsmen in the factory. In 2002, Camillus resurrected this grand old brand choosing a Bowie design from Master Bladesmith Jerry Fisk. That was the Camillus OVB Fisk Presentation Bowie.
This Fisk Sendero Hunter, based on Jerry's handmade design, is the fourth model Camillus has produced in the OVB line. The second was the Fisk Southwest Bowie and the third, introduced in 2005, was the Jim Crowell Bowie. Over the years, we have sold many of Jerry's handmade knives through The Cutting Edge®. Hunters of this type have been the most popular.
The design is very appealing with the double tempered 4-1/4" blade of premium 0170-6C Carbon Steel (non-stainless) at 58-60 Rc. The handle is hand-selected stabilized Amber Fiddleback Maple on an almost full tang. A precision fit stainless guard and ferrule add a touch of class and are accented by stainless steel handle bolts that are seamlessly blended like the finest handmade knife.
Like other OVB models, this knife was consecutively serial numbered, we reserved the first 125 knives. Sorry, no choice of serial number. It will ship with a quality leather sheath and will include a padded knife case for extra protection. Measures 8-3/4" from tip to butt and weighs 3.7 oz. Made in the United States.
We had numbers 001-125. The knives currently on our shelves will have serial numbers between 75 and 125. Unfortunately, we can not pick specific numbers within this range.
An A. G. Russell™ Exclusive. Originally intended as a 500 piece exclusive, however only 200 knives were made.
Buy one of each and save. This item number includes one OVB Fisk Hunter with Maple and one with Bubinga.
