Tom Krein is a bright young knifemaker with several years of experience working in both the A. G. Russell and Bob Dozier knife shops. The Dogfish™ is his first design for a manufacturer.
Unlike many skeletonized flat blades, the Krein Dogfish™ is graceful, gives a secure grip, and also has that dogfish face at the pommel which turns out to be - a lanyard hole and bottle opener! It has a secure finger choil and friction grooves at the thumb spine and near the butt.
The Dogfish™ is E.D.M. wire cut from a single piece of 3Cr13 stainless steel. The 2-1/4" modified Wharncliffe blade is then bevel ground, heat treated to 55-57 Rc. and given a fine bead-blast finish. Available with a razor-sharp or combined razor-sharp and triple-point™ serrated edge. Measures 5-1/4" tip to butt and weighs only 1.5 oz.
Includes a custom-fitted Kydex® sheath with six eyelets that grip the knife securely for inverted carry with the included neck chain. Will also fit the CRKT MercHarness™ system MercHarness™(CL-MERCHK - $7.95, not included). It's a useful minimal knife that's a great value at a suggested retail of $26.99. Made in China.
