CRKT Iraqi Freedom Tactical Fixed Blade

CRKT's Tactical Fixed Blade is a well thought out Combat/Utility Knife designed by CRKT's unnamed military consultants. They have selected this knife to represent them in their joint program with the AF Exchange System. It and the folders that follow are the most popular knives being sold to our troops in Iraq. The M60-14NK Tanto is BLACK with the molded Zytel® handle surfaced with a continuous dimple, like that of the knife and pistol grip surfaces from the late Rob Simonich, who they paid for the idea. Zytel® is not at all rubber like, but the surface coating makes it feel almost that way. This handle is truly a very positive grip. The 4-1/2" blade of AUS-8 at 57-59 Rc. is plenty thick at 4mm, almost 3/16". The surface of the blade is BLACK, coated with Titanium Nitride with the etch "Operation Iraqi Freedom" on the surface of the blade. The Tanto is ground on both sides with a recurve cutting edge with about 1/3 of the edge serrated. The sheath system (it cannot be called anything less than a system) is described by CRKT as "the most versatile tactical sheath possible, based on the need of special forces teams". It is constructed of Cordura with a molded Zytel® liner to protect the wearer. Includes two straps, one removable and a removable drop strap to put it as low as you want. This is a knife that will not only handle the day to day opening of cans, cutting strapping, prying up crate lids, etc., but it will also be useful in the darker sides of a warrior's life.
