Koji Hara is noted for his custom folders in exotic materials, and is especially known for his carving of the handle material into a classic terraced landscape that he calls his "Air-Step" design. In 2000, we included two fixed blade knives with Koji's Air-Step design in the A. G. Russell catalog of knives. Those were the first made in quantity for the American market.
CRKT® has applied Koji's remarkable design sense to a small personal folder incorporating their patented Outburst® assisted opening mechanism. The result is a small knife that gives good grip, fits the hand nicely, and is truly functional for a variety of work tasks. They call their first Koji series Ichi
