When you think you have seen every way possible to open a folding knife, Columbia River seems to find a new one. The Kommer Fulcrum is such a folder. To open, press the front side of the handle frame toward the blade as it nests in the handle. The blade swings out to the 90-degree position. You then pull the front side of the frame back into alignment with the rest of the handle causing the blade to rotate open and lock in the open position. This will take some practice, but after a few openings, you will find it works naturally in one continuous, fluid action. To close the Fulcrum, simply release the stainless steel locking liner. One-hand closing is also fast and easy.
The handle scales are injection molded of tough CPL composite, the swirl pattern on each scale is unique. The bolsters are diamond patterned stainless steel.
The 2-3/4" modified drop point blade is AUS-8 stainless at 58-59 Rc. with a hollow grind almost all the way to the top of the blade. Available with a satin blade finish, vibratory frame finish, and gray/black swirled scales or with a black titanium nitride blade finish, deep blue titanium nitride frame, and wild blue/black swirled scales. Both include a removable stainless steel pocket/gear clip. Made in Taiwan. Suggested retail is $69.99 for satin finish and $79.99 for black finish.
