This is a very limited fighter from the remarkable Dietmar Kressler, Europe's answer to R. W "Bob" Loveless. Thirty years ago Dietmar took Bob's inspiration back to Western Europe and overwhelmed knife collectors with his work. When he visits knife shows in this country, he wows collectors here as well.
When Dietmar had delivered all of the Harry Archer Knives I designed last year, he asked if he could use that handle design to make a fighter for us. I said yes, of course. Well, as it turns out Dietmar changed a line on the butt and the handle is not quite the same, but this is one of the greatest small fighters of the modern era. And it does not cost the $15,000-$20,000 that a Loveless fighter will cost you today.
This knife was carved from a solid block of RWL-34 to form the integral hilt and pommel and then hand ground to create the elegant double grind that Bob Loveless developed over 40 years ago. After the blades are heat-treated to 59-61 Rc. the finest amber stag (from our own treasured stock) is applied and a handsome sheath of English bridle leather was fitted to it. The blade measures 5" long and 1-1/16" wide with the clip point typical of all fighters based on Bob's 1960s designs. Measures 9-1/4" overall and weighs only 8.2 oz. This knife is sharpened on both the top and bottom edges, you must be responsible for your local or state laws on this subject. Carry at your own risk where double edges are forbidden!!
