Ontario Knife Company, long time maker of combat knives and the Spec-Plus series, is the proud producer of two more Bowie knives designed by Bill Bagwell.
The Plainsman is number five in Ontario Knives' Master Series of Bagwell Bowies. The 8-7/16" Bowie Blade of 5/16" thick 440A is hardened to 54-56 Rc. and has a satin finish. The 5-1/4" handle is Pakkawood. The knife is dressed with Brass hilt, ferrule, pins and escutcheon which is engraved with "Plainsman". The knife and black leather sheath together weigh 15 oz. The Drifter, the sixth Bagwell Bowie knife from Ontario is a very sensible sized knife with a 6-7/8" blade of 5/16" thick 440A high carbon stainless tool steel. This is a Spear Point Bowie (unusual today) with cartridge brass hilt, ferrule, pins and escutcheon. The knife and black leather sheath together weigh 14.3 oz. Made in U.S.A.
