An A. G. Russell™ 100 Piece Exclusive

Over the past few years, we have seen a few handmade knifemakers use Mammoth Bone. This material varies widely in its appearance because bone starts out very absorbent and easily picks up color from the minerals in the soil where it has laid for thousands of years. Unlike ivory, which will usually have color on the surface (bark), Mammoth Bone will have absorbed the color through the entire thickness.

Matt Conable at William Henry® Knives has begun to use this material in some of the exquisite knives his company produces. The bone that he has chosen for this A. G. Russell Exclusive is relatively subtle in tone and color and may range from the soft gray in our photo sample to a rich cream. The knife is the William Henry button lock Kestral with a Titanium frame and a 2-3/16" Devon Thomas Stainless Typhoon Damascus blade at 58-59 Rc., with White Topaz in the button lock and thumbstud. Measures 2-3/4" closed and weighs 1.3 oz. Made in the U. S. A. Includes a black shark leather ClipCase.
