Second Release in the Living History Series

Limited to 1836 pieces

Browning® has introduced a series of six knives honoring American people, events or locations of historical significance. These six knives honor the Liberty Tree, Jim Bowie and the Alamo, Robert E. Lee, Dwight Eisenhower, the Vietnam War and Crazy Horse. Each knife is being produced by Browning in collaboration with American Forests when wood becomes available from a tree that witnessed the event.

In 1836 for thirteen days, fewer than 200 civilians, Texans from Mexico, the United States and other countries, withstood an army of Mexican regulars led by General Santa Anna, "The Napoleon of the West", until overwhelmed by about 1,500 troops. Surviving fighters were shot out of hand. "Remember the Alamo" was still a rallying cry during World War II. Browning has produced 1836 knives celebrating this event and Jim Bowie.

Browning Alamo Bowie

The 8-3/8" blade of 420HC at 57-58 Rc., is reminiscent of designs commonly found in the hands of our colonial forefathers and is marked "Give Me Help - Oh My Country". The oak for the handles is from a limb of a Live Oak that grows on the grounds of the Alamo in San Antonio. On each side of the handle is a single star for the fabled Lone Star of Texas. The guard is brass. The prototype was made by Master Bladesmith Jerry Fisk. Limited to 1,836 individually numbered pieces (sorry, no choice of serial number). Ships with a display case of American Walnut with a beveled glass top and a Certificate of Authenticity. Made in the U. S. A. Suggested retail is $895.00.
