This 1990 Knife Collectors Club™ offering, is a unique knife in several ways. Probably the most unusual thing about it is the way the large blade unlocks. In 1988 or 1989, I was shown an old knife which made use of this locking system and I was immediately intrigued. There are very few two bladed knives with a locking blade. We proceeded to manufacture this knife for the club members with the highest quality bone we could locate and in a quality that is reminiscent of a fine antique. The workmanship is superior. The knife is no featherweight, it weighs an honest 4.7 oz., yet is not bulky.
The blades are of AUS-8 at 57-59 Rc, a high quality modern high carbon tool steel that has had the best of heat treatments including a cryogenic quench. This gives you a modern stainless blade that will hold an edge with the best of the old fashioned high carbon steels, yet it doesn't stain or rust as easily. Measures 4-3/8" closed with a main blade length of 3". Made in Japan. Depress small blade to release lock of large blade.
