D'Alton Holder has been a fixture in the knife business almost from the beginning of the hand-made knife movement (early 1970s). He has come a long way from a business executive with a hobby of making knives, to being one of the most prominent full time makers of hand-made knives in the world. When we first planned the Russell's For Men catalog, we knew that one of the things we wanted to offer was a special knife by this superb craftsman.
This drop point hunter features a 3-1/8" blade of ATS-34 at 60-61 Rc., bolsters of 416 stainless and handle scales of desert ironwood from the Sonoran desert. Both bolsters are engraved by Bruce Shaw with a deep relief bull elephant. Weighs 6.2 oz. The elegant handmade sheath is done in a basketweave pattern with a concho of oosic. The first ten will be in stock when this catalog hits the mailboxes. The final number made (up to 50 pieces), will depend on the popularity of the knife. If you order after the first ten knives have sold, there will be a wait of a few weeks for delivery. If you are looking for real value in collectible handmade knives, stop here.
