Knife Collectors Club™ CM-8

In the 1970s, the Knife Collector's Club and Bertram GMBR, the tiny maker of Hen & Rooster knives, issued some of the finest pocketknives ever made, beginning with the CM-4 in 1974, the year before we saved the tiny company from bankruptcy, and ending with the CM-9 in 1980, the year we lost it to bankruptcy.

The Little Brother Barlow, released in 1978, was an original A. G. Russell design produced for the Knife Collector's Club. It had a cartridge inlay of a .219 Zipper, a really hot varmint cartridge of the 1930s. This was a jack knife for dress wear; slim, compact and of the absolute highest quality. Hen & Rooster knives were made years before William Henry appeared and are still the finest traditional pocketknives ever made.

The 2-1/8" hand-forged clip blade of mirror polished high carbon stainless, swedged both sides, is marked on the obverse side with the Hen & Rooster mark and on the reverse side Bertram, *Germany*. CM-8. The liners are nickel silver and the handle scales are Mozombeque Ebony (African Blackwood). Measures 2-7/8" closed and weighs 1.125 oz. A wonderful "Sunday-go-to-meeting" knife. Made in three grades.
