Buck Alpha Folders

The Buck heavy duty Alpha folder is like bringing the 110 into the 21st Century. It is a hand-filling full sized 5" knife, with scales of laminated wood. The 3-1/2" blades are of ATS-34 and 154-CM, the steel of choice for custom knifemakers, heat-treated by the heat-treater most used by custom makers, Paul Bos. These are treated to 58-59 Rc. near perfect for ATS-34 & 154-CM. We offer this folder in two styles, a drop point blade (154-CM) and a gut-hook (ATS-34). The gut-hook was invented by Sid Bell, "The Alaskan Silversmith" who took his whittled model to Alaskan knifemaker Merle Seguine about 40 years ago. Buck's gut-hook is a somewhat different pattern and has been patented and trademarked. The "Zipper" has a near square shape and should be easier to sharpen. It also should cut hides of almost any thickness. Each knife ships with a genuine leather belt pouch that snaps closed over the knife. These are not lightweight knives; they weigh 7.6 oz. each and fill the hand. They are knives for that man who wants to feel the weight of the quality.
