Benchmade has taken the very popular Stryker design and added the Nitrous assist-opening mechanism. Nitrous uses the inner-liner to boost the blade open. As the blade is closed, the two torsion arms, which run the length of the handle liners, are secured in place and make contact with the blade tang. The user rotates the blade open to a 30-degree angle, and then the torsion bars take over and pushes the blade into the open position. They have also upgraded to textured G-10 handle scales for secure grip and added a thumbstud for ease of opening.
