Shades of the AK-47 bayonet. This 4" blade of 440C stainless tool steel looks as wicked as the bayonets furnished with the combat rifle invented in 1947 by Mikhail Kalashnikov, who was then a young Soviet Army officer. While that rifle and bayonet was rugged, cheap and virtually indestructible, this knife is only rugged and virtually indestructible. The Boker KAL uses the now nearly universal liner lock invented by Michael Walker and handles of 6061 TL6 aircraft alloy inlaid with G10. The 4" blade of 440C is shaped like that original bayonet, including the fullers (blood grooves) which were pressed into the bayonet but are machined into this knife blade. The knife pivot is decorated with a Soviet star. A handsomely designed clip attaches at the butt of the handle on the reverse side of the knife. The really neat sheet metal box is embossed with a magazine for the rifle. Measures 9" when open and weighs 5.8 oz. Suggested retail is $215.00.
