Damascus steel has been in use for many centuries, but rarely in kitchen knives. This Damascus is a little unusual with a center core of VG-10, a Vanadium, Cobalt, Molybdenum, high quality stainless knife steel at 65 Rc. That core is then laminated with 32 layers (16 on each side) of 410+nickel stainless producing a stainless Damascus. The bolsters and butt cap are engraveable 416 stainless. The handles are black laminated Pakka Wood. Individual knives are Gift Boxed.

The scalloped edge on this knife is intended to create a continuous suction breaking action as the edge is pushed or drawn through the meat, onions or other vegetables being sliced. Lots of small grooves along the edge of the blade, each one helping to break the suction that builds up as meat or vegetables cling to the slick side of the blade. If you slice lots of onions, as I do for my chili, then you know how hard it is to keep them from sticking to the blade. 8-1/2" chef's blade. Weighs 7.6 oz. Try this knife and if it does not please you 100%, return it for a full refund. That does not mean "try it for 30 days", it means try it for as long as you think to know if you like it. (new to this line of knives) Suggested retail $161.95.
