Lone Wolf Knives

Earlier this year Lone Wolf Knives, a new company owned by a former president of Gerber Legendary Blades, introduced the small version which I kept expecting. The PaulŽ Pocket Folder was designed by Paul Poehlmann using the same axial locking mechanism, which he patented in the early 1970s and uses on his handmade knives. At 3-1/8" closed, and with a 2" blade of 420HC at 56-58 Rc., it is the first pocket-sized PaulŽ Knife ever manufactured. The action of this knife is unique, pinch the button between your thumb and forefinger and smoothly snap the handle away from the blade.

Lone Wolf® Paul® Protector

The Protector is a tough, sleek folder with an aggressive reinforced-tip blade that will handle any cutting task you are likely to encounter. The handle is profiled to fit in your hand for a secure and comfortable grip and yet is slim in the pocket.

Lone Wolf Paul Prankster with Stag

The PaulŽ Prankster is a tactical style knife with a little more elegance than is typical. The 3-1/4" plain edge blade is 154CM at 59-60 Rc., large enough for any cutting task yet compact enough for comfortable carry. The lock is the "One Hand" friendly AxialŽ Lock that Paul Poehlmann invented over 20 years ago and on which most of his knife designs are based. The PaulŽ AxialŽ Lock was produced by Gerber Legendary Blades in the 1970s and then again in 1995-96.

Lone Wolf® Paul® Presto with Pearl and Fire Opal

What a striking knife! Lone Wolf Knives has selected exhibition grade white Mother-of-Pearl for the handle scales and then set that off with an inlay of Fiery Red Opal set in a pattern of thin nickel silver strips. The 2-3/8" blade is Hakkapella Damasteel at 59-61 Rc. The contrasts are marvelous.

Lone Wolf Paul® Presto with Gold-Lip Pearl

The Gold-Lip Pearl Oyster is being cultured for white pearls in Australia, and recently in Southeast Asia, particularly Indonesia and the Phillipines. The shell makes exquisite handle material for small gentleman's folders like the PaulŽ Presto. The color of the pearl Lone Wolf has put on these one hundred knives is a deep rich gold, some of the most highly figured and striking I have seen.
