Marttiini Knives from Finland

In every nation there is always one cutlery firm that is the recognized leader! For many years the American leader was Case. Before Case it was Cattaraugus and after Case it was Schrade. In Germany, it was Puma and is now Boker. In England Joseph Rogers was followed by Wostenholm now replaced by Wilkinson. In Finland, for many years it has been J. Marttiini.

Marttiini has specialized in mid to mid-high quality hunting knives for European hunters and campers. Their knives are all in the Lapplander style, a very efficient design and popular with everyone who does not require a guard to keep fingers off the blade. Knives from Finland have always been noted for being both hard and tough. Here are some of their best. A knife for the man who wants a real handful. The 4-3/8" blade of high carbon stainless is topped with a hand filling 5" handle of bronze and curley birch. The pommel is an abstract cast lynx head. Functions as well as it looks.

Marttiini Finland Knife

The Finland Knife is a neat Lapplander with a 4-5/16" high carbon stainless blade and an overall length of 8-1/2". The handle of curly birch is capped with a bronze pommel topped with the Lion of Finland in gold and blue enamel.

Marttiini Lynx

This is the everyday knife of the Lapp and the Finn. The 2-1/2" blade of high carbon stainless steel is big enough for most anything and the 4-1/4" handle of birch with just a touch of curl and a bronze ferrule, makes this a neat package and a great value.
