A blast from the past, the Friction Folder, in the simplest terms, is a non-locking knife. There is no locking mechanism and no detent to hold the blade in the closed position. The knife is held closed simply by the friction created between the washers and the handle material rubbing on the blade.

Founded in late 2005 and debuted at the 2006 SHOT Show, Mantis Knives founder Jared West saw an unfilled niche in the tactical area of the knife market and went after it. Using unconventional designs and materials these knives are definitely not your grandpa's knives.
