The asagao (morning glory) is a strong symbol in the Japanese culture. Originally brought to Japan around the 10th century from China for medicinal purpose, their lovely flowers have captured the hearts of the Japanese people and have been the inspiration for many Japanese poems. The morning glory flower has become symbolic of summer in Japan. Grown since ancient times, it is still one of the most popular summer garden plants. This latest in Mcusta's limited edition cocobolo handled folders features a morning glory flower cut through beautiful Cocobolo handle scales. The cutouts are inlaid with a detailed flower cut from thin sheets of stainless inset with Turquoise. The 3-1/4" drop point blade is 32 layer Stainless Damascus with a VG-10 core at 58-60 Rc. Measures 4-1/4" closed and weighs 3.8 oz. Each knife will be serial numbered (sorry, no choice of serial number) and stamped with the red Mcusta insignia (Rakuin). Includes a beautiful A. G. Russell™ Exclusive leather presentation case. Made in Japan. We are being told that Mcusta will no longer make these exquisite limited edition knives. We still have small quantities of several of the recent versions in stock. They will not last long.
